World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This boosts the power of the equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.
It is important to note that although you can upgrade magic and common equipment, it is generally not worth the effort. Unique and rare equipment will soon surpass upgraded magic and common equipment.
Cost
The player must spend gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level as well as the type of upgrade selected. For instance, upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor because weapons have lower level requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to improve the quality of armor, weapons and trinkets. This process is similar to the gear reforging process in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However instead of using currency, players need to visit an upgrader for their item to complete the process.
Item upgrades can be expensive, particularly when it comes to weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path each step in the level of an item can cost several Valorstones or crests. The cost can be prohibitive for those who don't have the funds or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately the game allows players to play a reroll of an upgraded item by using a special tool in the items menu. This option will replace the upgraded item with a level 1 version that offers different bonus effects. Requirements

Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item which has been upgraded. The new item comes with a distinct set of bonuses, and a lower level of the item. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the rerolled item will not retain its level or have any wasted resources.
Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the initial item was Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Some exceptional items are also suitable for rerolling, however their original stats will be replaced by a flat bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will result in a Normal version, and rolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.
Upgraded items could have additional modifications that can enhance their performance and improve their stats. These additional modifiers aren't included in the upgrade cost. They can be acquired through questing, buying them on the Trading Post or from other players. They can be earned through fulfilling specific missions in the game.
To upgrade an item of equipment, you must visit the NPC [Armoror Boboko located in Central Flarine. Depending on the type of item, you'll require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 12 can be obtained from Bosses). You will also require various quantities of Minerals and Erons.
Time
Upgrades to items can be used to boost the performance of your gear and ship without having to level them. Although upgrading isn't expensive, it is an excellent way to increase your performance without having to spend as much time in combat. It's crucial to know the cost and benefits prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade boosts the base stat of an item by a certain amount, and also gives a chance for a bonus substat increase. The extra substat is random, and can vary from a tiny increase in one stat to a much greater increase in another. It's best to focus on the most effective items in the slot first, as they'll provide a greater return for your investment.
You can see the time it takes to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting an item such as a ship, weapon or accessory. The upgrade window will show the expected completion time and progress. In certain cases, you may be able to speed up the upgrade process by applying a Glyph.

Rewards

This process uses Growthstones and Sollant however there is an opportunity to obtain a fully upgraded item with just one cycle of growth. item upgrades that an item gains, the higher its stats will be and the more items can be upgraded.
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to give an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect while the equipment is being worn. Some upgrade components also come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving as a gift. Additionally, players can recover upgraded items using an Upgrade Extractor, or salvaging them with a salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed on gathering tools can be freely swapped.
A player can reroll an item into a different upgradeable item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow for reroll. This will alter the layout and allow players to select up to six items for "recycling". The item will be replaced by one of the level 1 items. Recycled items don't keep their status or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Common items can be upgraded up to a maximum of level six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The upgrade of an item is added to the base statistics of the item. This means that they won't increase further after a certain level.
